Bloomfield's of Flat Rock is seeking a Retail Sales Associate to join our standalone home decor, kitchenware, and garden market in Flat Rock, North Carolina. As a full-time Retail Sales Associate, you will drive sales, maintain flawless store presentation, and deliver exceptional customer service in a fast-paced, independent environment. You will thrive by efficiently managing inventory, handling cash and card transactions, and creating a welcoming shopping experience for our customers. This position requires a self-motivated individual who can work alone effectively and handle retail operations autonomously.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers, assess their retail needs, offer product recommendations, and resolve complaints swiftly
- Process cash and card transactions accurately using the retail point of sale system
- Restock shelves, stock merchandise, and open and display large amounts of retail inventory
- Execute opening and closing procedures independently and work beyond standard hours if necessary
- Maintain overall store presentation, cleanliness, and visual merchandising standards
Qualifications
- 1 or more years of experience in retail sales, cashiering, or customer service
- Strong communication skills, excellent time management, and the ability to multitask
- Ability to work independently and manage the storefront alone when required
- Physical ability to stand for 7 plus hours and lift 30 to 50 pounds regularly
- Availability to work varying shifts including weekends and holidays
Position Details
- Full-time schedule consisting of 35 hours per week
- High availability required for peak retail seasons, weekend shifts, and holiday hours
Compensation and Benefits
- Employee discount available on most store items with select exclusions
- 10 paid vacation days, 5 sick days, and 2 personal days per year (Advance notice required for all vacation requests)
- Store closed on Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day (Vacation time restrictions apply during busy retail holiday seasons)
