Applications from qualified local candidates for a Food Services Charge Person role at Arace (Intermediate and Middle Schools) are currently being accepted.
Work Year: 10-month position 184 days (including charge person and annual training, school opening, & cleaning day)
Work Day: 7 – 8 hours per day (35-40 hours/week) TBD
Hourly Wage: $20.83 (Step 1 per UPSEU contract. Negotiable based on experience, subject to union approval.)

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications, and Duties:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- College degree; preferred specifically in Culinary Art/Food Service Management.
- Five (5) or more years of full-service or institutional experience in a high volume kitchen
- ServSafe Certification required or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.
- Prep and cook meals according to cycle menu as needed. Be proficient in recipe procedures, measurement conformity, and cooking techniques.
- Ability to lead, delegate, and manage a team to perform up to standards set forth by management. Assist in implementation and follow-up on general worker task lists and sanitation cleaning schedules for all kitchen areas and equipment.
- Minimum of three years of ordering and inventory for high volume kitchen
- Responsible for all general food preparation, serving, cleaning, and sanitation procedures.
- Perform temperature checks during production period to ensure food is being cooked, prepared, and held at proper temperatures. Maintain daily Production Records and Kitchen Logs.
- Demonstrate the ability to deal effectively and courteously with students, staff, and school personnel
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products and the ability to learn new software programs
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds. Assist with putting away vendor deliveries.
- Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s.
