Description & Requirements

The Climate Data Steering Committee (CDSC) was established in 2022 and brings together global regulators, policymakers, international organizations, and standard setters to improve access to high-quality climate risk-related data for use by investors, companies, policymakers, regulators and civil society.

The CDSC oversees the development of the Net-Zero Data Public Utility (NZDPU), a global public-good data platform that provides a trusted, central source of company-level climate risk-related data that is transparent and accessible to all. Today, the NZDPU enables governments, regulators, financial institutions, companies, and civil society to track greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, corporate targets, and related metadata — helping to provide the data and transparency to facilitate informed decision-making.

The Strategy and Partnerships team works with the CDSC Secretariat and the NZDPU team, playing a pivotal role in expanding the NZDPU’s data coverage by working with governments and regulatory authorities to integrate mandatory climate risk-related disclosures into the NZDPU.

What’s the role?
We are looking for a Associate, Jurisdictional Partnerships to join our team and support work to form strategic partnerships with key jurisdictions for the NZDPU. This role will support efforts to engage with governments, regulators, and international organizations, coordinating with the CDSC Secretariat and the NZDPU teams.

We’ll trust you to:
  • Support efforts to form jurisdictional partnerships, from initial conversations to development of Memoranda of Understanding.
  • Track developments in mandatory climate disclosure frameworks and provide insights for jurisdictional engagement strategy.
  • Stay abreast and conduct research and in-depth analysis on emerging climate disclosure regulations, particularly those aligned with ISSB standards to understand how jurisdictions are collecting and storing disclosure data.
  • Prepare material to support engagement with jurisdictions, including meeting briefings and presentations.
  • Prepare first drafts of agreement documents, including Memoranda of Understanding.
  • Coordinate with technical teams on technical requirements, data disclosure and metadata to enable successful data ingestion.
  • Prepare communication materials such as FAQs, and public announcements related to partnerships.
  • Manage timelines, deliverables, tracking of actions for partnership-related workstreams.
  • Collaborate across internal policy and technical teams to ensure coordinated delivery.

You’ll need to have:
  • 3 years of professional experience spanning public and private sectors, ideally including direct work within or with government institutions.
  • Bachelor’s degree in public policy, international relations, environmental studies, economics or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • An understanding of, or interest in, the global climate data and disclosure landscape.
  • Familiarity with data governance, climate-related data platforms.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical, research, and written/oral communication skills.
  • Effective presentation skills and ability to tailor content to different stakeholders.
  • A high standard of excellence and a critical eye for detail.

We’d love to see:
  • Experience working with or in governmental bodies on climate data initiatives.
  • Experience with mandatory international climate disclosure landscape, standard setters, or financial regulatory processes.
  • Comfort working at the intersection of data, policy, and multilateral engagement.

Apply if you’re excited to contribute to a high-profile, global initiative advancing access to public good climate data. This role offers the opportunity to work across jurisdictions, gain exposure to both the CDSC Secretariat and the NZDPU, and collaborate with partners shaping the future of climate data.

What We Offer
  • Opportunity to contribute directly to the CDSC Secretariat and NZDPU, initiatives at the forefront of global climate data disclosure.
  • A collaborative, international work environment across governments, finance, and civil society.
  • Professional development and career growth in climate policy data innovation.
  • Two-year fixed-term contract, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding and organizational priorities.
