Bloom Therapy MHC is a private practice rooted in compassion, creativity, and trauma‑informed care. We primarily support LGBTQ individuals and their families, immigrants, and first‑generation communities seeking affirming, culturally responsive mental health care. We’re looking for a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC or LMHC‑LP) licensed in New York to join our growing team.

About the Role
As a counselor at Bloom Therapy, you’ll provide individual and/or couples' counseling through a trauma-informed, LGBTQ affirming, and culturally responsive lens. You’ll help clients navigate identity, relationships, emotional regulation, and life transitions while contributing to a practice that values emotional resonance, accessibility, and holistic care.
This role is primarily remote, with optional in‑person sessions depending on your preference and client needs.
What You’ll Do
- Provide individual and/or couples’ counseling with a trauma-informed, LGBTQ affirming approach
- Support clients navigating emotional regulation, relational challenges, identity development, and life transitions
- Practice with cultural humility and responsiveness, especially when working with LGBTQ clients, immigrants, and first‑generation families
- Collaborate on therapeutic tools and creative resources
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and uphold ethical standards
- Contribute to a practice culture centered on inclusivity, creativity, and emotional safety
What We’re Looking For
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field
- Active LMHC license in New York or New Jersey or LMHC‑LP in NY only
- Familiarity with CBT and DBT frameworks (experience preferred but not required)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Commitment to cultural competence, cultural humility, and client‑centered care
- Passion for working with LGBTQ individuals and their families
Bonus Skills (Not Required)
- Experience in couple’s counseling and trauma‑informed therapeutic approaches
- Experience facilitating workshops, groups, or wellness retreats
- Interest in integrating mindfulness, art, or somatic practices into therapy
