Role Description This is a PT / full-time Retail Specialist role focused on supporting customers and driving sales of plants and gardening products. The Retail Specialist will respond to customer inquiries via phone or walk-in retail, helping individuals choose suitable products based on their needs and environment. Day-to-day tasks include recommending products and completing sales transactions via our Shopify POS, receiving and pricing new inventory, plant care and maintaining a clean and retail savvy store . The role also involves working closely with the team to share new inventory details, following-up on customer special requests, and assisting with managing customer inquiries. The Retail Specialist is expected to maintain a professional and helpful manner while ensuring all areas of the shop are kept to the highest standard. Excellence in shopkeeping and flower farm maintenance are two major keys to our success. We are looking for a new Team member who can tackle and master both of those things and grow with us to take on more responsibilities in the future.
Qualifications
- Ability to build rapport with customers, listen actively, and communicate clearly.
- Strong sales aptitude, including comfort discussing product benefits and creativity in solutions to meet the customer’s visual goal.
- Basic knowledge of or interest in plants, gardening, and home décor, with a willingness to learn product details and care instructions.
- Competence using computers and learning POS system - Shopify.
- Reliable time management skills, including the ability to prioritize daily tasks while taking on new requests as retail customers arrive. Being able to circle-back to the daily tasks and complete them after being interrupted is key.
- Previous experience in retail, customer service, or plant industry experience prefereed but not required.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in business, horticulture, or related fields is a plus.
