Responsibilities
- Safely load, unload, and move packages using manual handling techniques and material handling equipment such as forklifts and RF scanners
- Sort shipments accurately according to destination and shipment type, ensuring proper organization for delivery or storage
- Operate warehouse equipment including forklifts and automatic inserting machines to facilitate efficient material movement
- Assist with shipment sorting, shipping & receiving processes, and mail distribution tasks to maintain seamless operations
- Perform data entry into warehouse management systems to track inventory, shipments, and package status
- Conduct regular inventory checks and organize materials within the warehouse to optimize space utilization
- Support outdoor work activities when necessary, including outdoor storage management and yard organization
Skills
- Proven experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for data entry, reporting, and communication purposes
- Knowledge of warehouse distribution processes, shipment sorting, and shipping & receiving procedures
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting while maintaining safety standards
- Experience with RF scanners for inventory tracking and data accuracy
- Excellent customer service skills when interacting with team members or external vendors involved in mail processing or shipment coordination
- Basic math skills for counting, measuring, and verifying shipment details
- Outdoor work experience preferred for yard organization or outdoor storage areas
