We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an Apheresis Operations Coordinator to manage the unit's overall operational flow. Assist nurses in leukapheresis collection procedures, providing support with patient/donor intake, preparing the apheresis machine, and supplies. Oversee and organize preventative maintenance for the unit and equipment. Provide administrative support to the department and act as liaison to internal and external inquiries.

- Identify opportunities for process improvement and work with leadership to plan, implement, and evaluate changes.
- Apply working knowledge to ensure all processes comply with regulatory standards, including but not limited to FACT, AABB, and FDA regulations.
- Perform other and incidental duties as assigned.
- Create, modify, maintain, and transmit electronic records in a controlled and approved manner in conformance with FDA requirements.
- Receive, screen, and route phone calls and visitors, including managing new patient consults and working with external providers and clinics to schedule chronic patient appointments.
- Assist the charge nurse with new-patient tasks, including creating charts and ensuring equipment is available at the appropriate external sites.
- Manage and maintain machine movement logs. Coordinate and arrange for machine movement as needed for procedures or maintenance.
- Coordinate with Bloodworks providers, external providers, and other external hospital/clinic staff to arrange for therapeutic apheresis procedures.
- Support validation activities of new equipment and processes, assisting with associated SOP and controlled document updates.
- Maintain office filing and recordkeeping/archiving systems, including patient records, correspondence, and resource information.
- Assist in the collation, filing, and organization of patient and donor charts.
- Create, maintain, and review preventative maintenance logs.
- Perform and delegate maintenance of equipment.
- Coordinate with the required departments to schedule preventative maintenance that cannot be performed in the unit.
- Report, manage, and track out-of-order equipment.
- Perform routine quality control (QC) checks on equipment, including, but not limited to, blood pressure cuffs, scales, and REES monitors.
- Ensure proper release of repaired equipment into production.
- Perform and review material inventory checks.
- Process orders, receive, inspect, and approve supplies.
- Complete daily, monthly, and quarterly REES reports.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High School education or GED equivalent.
- 1-2 years of related work experience. Experience in a medical/clinic setting preferred.
