JOB TITLE Production Supervisor

Reporting to: Chief Operations Officer (CCO)

Working with: Production Supervisors, Production Associates and Wider Team

What we will ask of you:

Bloc Blinds Manufacturing, a leader in automated production of high-quality window coverings, is seeking an experienced and hands-on Production Supervisor to join our team to support with the management our Texas-based facility's end-to-end manufacturing process. This role is central to our operational success, covering every stage from Goods In, Production line and assembly, through to final customer dispatch. The ideal candidate has proven experience driving efficiency in an automated production environment, maintaining high level quality control, and leading a diverse production & assembly line team to meet production goals.

What You'll Do: Key Responsibilities

I. Leadership & Team Management

· Supervise and Lead: Directly supervise and lead a team of production associates, including managing training, scheduling, and formal performance evaluation working alongside other Production Supervisors to achieve this.

· Talent Deployment: Understand the skills and requirements of each line position. Strategically assign staff based on performance and skillsets to optimize output at every workstation.

II. Production Planning & Efficiency

· Scheduling & Flow Control: Plan, organize, and oversee production schedules to meet daily and weekly targets. Manage the release of work orders to ensure a continuous, smooth flow of products.

· Process Optimization: Identify and address inefficiencies in production workflows, and work with the maintenance team to ensure automated machinery and equipment are in optimal condition.

III. Quality & Continuous Improvement

· Quality Assurance: Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to all quality standards, product specifications, and deadlines.

· Defect Resolution: Ensure all window shades and related products meet customer and company quality standards. Collaborate with the quality control team to identify and address defects or inconsistencies in production.

· Improvement Initiatives: Implement and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and reduce waste across the factory floor.

V. Reporting & Cross-Functional Alignment

· Logistics & Dispatch Oversight: Ensure the accurate and timely movement of all materials (Goods In) and finished products (Dispatch), guaranteeing all customer shipments leave the factory on schedule.

· Data & Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of production output, labor hours, and material usage.

· Performance Reporting: Prepare and present reports on production performance, including key metrics such as efficiency, quality, and downtime.

· Departmental Coordination: Coordinate with other departments, such as procurement, logistics, and customer service, to align production planning with overall business goals.

IV. Safety & Compliance

· Safety Enforcement: Enforce strict adherence to all health and safety guidelines and company protocols on the production floor.

· Training & Inspection: Conduct regular safety training and inspections to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with regulations.

What we are looking for:

· Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, engineering, or a related field preferred.

· Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in a supervisory role within a manufacturing environment, preferably in window shades/blinds or related industries.

· Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in manufacturing systems and processes, including inventory management, production planning, and quality control procedures.

· Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate, manage, and hold a team accountable.

· Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, coupled with effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

· Operational Readiness: Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality and safety; ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple, competing priorities.

· Cross-Functional Collaboration: Ability to coordinate complex scheduling requirements with planning, assembly, and logistics teams.

Desirable:

· Lean Manufacturing Principles: Proven ability to implement and enforce lean principles, with specific experience in monitoring and achieving takt time goals and driving continuous improvement.

· Industry Experience: Direct experience in the window covering, textiles, or blinds manufacturing industry.

· Equipment Familiarity: Familiarity with machinery and equipment used in window shade/blinds manufacturing (e.g., cutting machines, automated assembly tools).

· Certifications: Certifications in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma.

· Language Skills: Proficiency in Spanish is a plus, given the Texas location.
