Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Direct Support Professional located in Elyria, OH. The Direct Support Professional will provide hands-on care and support to individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Responsibilities include assisting with daily living activities, supporting community involvement, fostering skill development, and ensuring a safe and nurturing environment in accordance with established care plans and organizational standards. Empathy, patience, and a commitment to helping others achieve their goals are key for this role.

Qualifications

• Experience or knowledge in Human Services, particularly in working with individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities.
• Strong Interpersonal Skills, including patience, empathy, and teamwork abilities.
• Effective Communication skills to interact with individuals, families, and team members.
• Willingness to undergo Training in care practices and individual support plans.
• Experience or understanding of working with individuals with Intellectual Disabilities.
• High school diploma or equivalent (required); relevant certifications or experience in caregiving are a plus.
• Ability to meet physical requirements of the job, such as lifting, transferring, or assisting individuals.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (preferred).
