Responsibilities
As a Direct Support Professional / Personal Care Assistant, you will:
- Provide one-on-one non-medical support to adults with developmental disabilities
- Assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, and mobility
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding support when needed
- Provide medication reminders and assistance according to care plans
- Perform light housekeeping tasks related to the individual’s care and living space
- Provide companionship, emotional support, and positive engagement
- Encourage participation in daily routines, community activities, and life-skills development
- Follow each individual’s person-centered care plan and accurately document services provided
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and care teams and report concerns promptly
- Ensure the health, safety, and dignity of each individual served
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum 1 year experience working with individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities preferred
- Ability to pass DOJ/FBI background clearance required
- Must be reliable, compassionate, and professional
- Ability to follow structured care plans and support individuals respectfully
- Strong communication and documentation skills
Work Schedule
Flexible shifts available:
- 4-hour shifts
- 8-hour shifts
- 10–12 hour shifts
Weekday and weekend availability preferred.
