Duties
- Provide expert hair styling, cutting, coloring, and texturing services tailored to each client’s preferences and features
- Perform hair extensions, threading, eyelash extensions, and makeup applications to elevate clients’ looks
- Maintain impeccable sanitation standards by properly sterilizing tools and workstations after each service
- Utilize salon software such as MINDBODY for scheduling appointments, processing transactions, and managing client records
- Engage with clients through effective communication, understanding their needs and offering personalized recommendations
- Upsell retail products like hair care, nail care items, and styling tools to enhance client satisfaction and store sales
- Assist with front desk responsibilities including greeting clients, managing appointments, and handling retail sales
Qualifications
- Valid cosmetology license or certification as required by state law
- Proven experience working in the beauty industry with a strong portfolio of diverse services
- Knowledge of hair coloring techniques, color theory, and hair care products
- Skilled in barbering techniques including straight razor shaves when applicable
- Familiarity with salon management software such as MINDBODY or similar platforms
- Excellent communication skills to connect effectively with clients and team members
- Ability to perform various beauty treatments including nail care, makeup application, hair styling, and hair threading
- Strong understanding of sanitation practices to ensure a safe environment for clients and staff
- Experience in retail sales, upselling strategies, and retail math to maximize revenue opportunities
- Mentoring abilities to support new team members in mastering techniques and customer service standards
