Role Description
- Provide instruction for courses at a variety of times and locations.
- Demonstrate a commitment to student engagement, student success, and instructional excellence.
- Maintain access to students through posted office hours and electronic communication.
- Prepare and utilize a course syllabus and assessments for each course using guidelines established by the institution.
- Maintain current knowledge of effective teaching methodologies and utilize a variety of instructional delivery methods, classroom media, and educational resources.
- Advise students in academic matters.
- Evaluate student performance through a variety of means to measure progress while informing students in a timely manner.
- Assist in the development, distribution and collection of assessments for courses and program objectives.
- Provide recommendations to the Academic Dean, Assistant Dean, Department Heads, and Curriculum Resource Teams regarding curriculum.
- Demonstrate a positive and professional relationship with students, colleagues, college administration, and the community.
- Provide information requested of all faculty.
- Submit timely college reports and forms to the appropriate divisions/departments.
- Exhibit a commitment to lifelong learning through participation in professional development activities.
- Possess a passion for teaching community college students.
- Demonstrate effective communication skills, both written and orally.
- Attend college orientation and required institutional meetings.
- Responsible for other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate’s degree or higher in a related field from an accredited college or university.
- Experience: Three (3) years of industry work experience in the subject area.
- Teaching: No prior teaching experience is required (onboarding provided).
- Technical Proficiency: Must have industry experience in several of the following:
- Basic electricity and electronics, robotics, micro-processors.
- Instrumentation, digital logic, industrial motor controls.
- Hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, and mechanical drives.
- Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and AC/DC drives.
- Machinery installation, industrial troubleshooting, and safety.
- Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.
