This position assists children and families achieve greater emotional, mental, and physical health and well-being. The Child Development Specialist works with the children, parents, families, teachers, and outside agencies to address behavioral, developmental, or any other concerns families may be facing. This person must demonstrate a commitment to professionalism, ethical conduct, and confidentiality.
This position requires full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of Blessing Hospital. It is expected that the employee demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values while supporting the strategic plan, goals, and direction of the Performance Improvement Process (PIP) at Blessing Hospital.

Education/Training/Experience
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Minimum bachelor's degree required in Early Childhood, Human Services, or related field with six semester or nine quarter hours in courses related directly to child care and/or child development, from birth to age six;
- Strong knowledge base regarding child development, at-risk children, community resources, and networking
- Ability to establish working relationships with children, parents, teachers, and other community service providers
- Bachelor's degree required in Early Childhood, Human Services, or related field
- Upon hire and every two years: physical exam per state requirements
- Upon hire: Background check as required by State of Illinois.
- Non-exempt hourly
