What are the responsibilities and job description for the School Nurse position at Blessed Sacrament School?
Blessed Sacrament School is seeking a full-time School Nurse to provide clinic assistance to the school community for the safety and well-being of the students. This is an 11 month position (August-June), Monday-Friday from 7:30am-3:30pm, with a preferred start date of January 20, 2026. The ideal candidate has a joyful, hardworking personality and is able to handle the daily rigors of a school day.
Areas of responsibility:
- Conduct emergency care and first aid to student health records regarding clinic visits, medical difficulties of students, screening results, physicial examinations, and immunization records.
- Maintain detailed student health records regarding clinic visits, medical difficulties of students, screening results, physicial examinations, and immunization records.
- Ensure that state and locial health requirements are met by students and teachers. Is knowledgeable about the contents of the Virginia School Helath Guidelines.
- Makes health appraisals through observation, interview, analysis of health records, and consults with administrators, faculty and parents.
- Acts as a resource to faculty regarding health education.
- Coordinates all health screenings (i.e., vision, hearing, and scoliosis).
- Keeps inventory and order supplies (within the budget allotted) when needed.
- Follows the Universal Precautions and Bloodborne Pathogen requirements.
- Respects the confidentiality of information this position becomes priving to when dealing with students.
- Accepts other miscellaneous duties related to health/clinic care as defined by the principal.
