Responsibilities
- Assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to promote independence and dignity.
- Monitor patient health by taking vital signs, observing behavior, and reporting changes to healthcare teams promptly.
- Support medication administration following care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations for privacy and confidentiality.
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with cooking to meet dietary needs and preferences.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties in group homes or home settings.
- Use specialized equipment like Hoyer lifts for safe patient transfer and heavy lifting when necessary.
- Document care activities accurately in compliance with healthcare standards and assist in developing or updating individual care plans.
Requirements
- Previous experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, group homes, or home & community care settings is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, autism support, hospice care, and working with individuals with disabilities.
- Certifications such as CPR, First Aid, HIPAA compliance training, and medication administration are strongly recommended.
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, or overnight shifts as needed.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and families.
