Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Care Givers to join our team at a licensed Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE). In this role, you will provide essential support and personalized care to residents, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed schedules and protocols
- Monitor vital signs and observe residents for any changes in health or behavior
- Provide Alzheimer's and dementia care with patience and understanding
- Support residents with memory care needs through personalized engagement and activities
- Prepare nutritious meals in accordance with dietary restrictions and preferences
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by assisting with light housekeeping and sanitation tasks
- Document resident care activities accurately using EMR systems or paper records
- Support residents during outings or appointments by providing transportation as needed
- Implement behavior management techniques to promote positive interactions and reduce agitation
Qualifications
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or long-term care settings preferred
- Knowledge of dementia, Alzheimer's, and memory care best practices
- Certification in First Aid and CPR required or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Experience working with people with developmental disabilities or behavioral challenges is a plus
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a caregiving environment
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with residents, families, and team members
- Valid driver’s license for resident outings or transportation duties preferred
- Familiarity with EMR systems is advantageous
- Physical ability to assist with transfers using Hoyer lifts or other mobility aids
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to improve residents’ quality of life
