Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Young Toddler staff member to join our early childhood education team. In this role, you will create a nurturing and stimulating environment tailored to the developmental needs of children aged 12 to 36 months. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact during these formative years while working in a collaborative and supportive setting.
Duties
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment that encourages exploration, independence, and curiosity among toddlers.
- Use effective behavior management strategies to guide children’s social interactions and emotional regulation.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety protocols by maintaining first aid and CPR certifications and practicing proper childcare procedures.
- Share responsibility with the classroom for the care and education of an assigned group of children.
- Be responsible for implementing the daily program activities, curriculum, supervising children, communicating with parents, and providing a healthy and safe environment for children.
- Actively participate with other members of the staff to produce plans for the children, work with the parents and assess the needs of individual children. She/he will perform diapering, feeding, “housekeeping” and general care of children in the room, and could be required to perform other duties as specified by the director or acting director.
Qualifications
- A minimum High school diploma or GED certificate and 2 years experience working with children and over the age of 18. A high school diploma or GED certificate and completion of a post secondary training curriculum. A high school diploma or GED certificate, 15 credit hours from an accredited college or university in ECE, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field and 1 year experience working with children. A HS diploma or GED certificate, including 600 or more hours of secondary education or the human services field. A HS diploma or GED certificate and 30 credit hours form an accredited college or university in ECE, child development, special education, elementary education or human services field.
