We are seeking a skilled and knowledgeable Maintenance person. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with industrial electrical systems, and mechanical maintenance, and will be confident in diagnosing, repairing, and improving equipment performance plant-wide.
Position Summary:
This role is responsible for maintaining and improving the reliability of plant equipment through repairs, and preventive/predictive maintenance. The technician will work across multiple systems—including mechanical, electrical, and some automated equipment—and must demonstrate the ability to confidently work with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) to support plant operations and uptime.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Independently troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical and electrical systems, including contactors, relays, VFDs, motors, rectifiers, sensors, brakes, and pneumatic components.
- Utilize PLC knowledge to:
- Replace faulty PLC components (input/output modules, relays, sensors, etc.)
- Support minor program edits or changes in collaboration with manufacture
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance, including cleaning, inspecting, and lubricating electrical and mechanical systems (up to 480V).
- Lead or assist in equipment changeovers, rebuilds, and overhauls, demonstrating a focus on quality workmanship and long-term reliability.
- Support operations by identifying root causes of failures and implementing long-lasting solutions.
- Prioritize and complete work orders efficiently using the company’s CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
- Accurately read and apply blueprints, wiring diagrams, OEM manuals, and schematics to guide troubleshooting and repairs.
- Promote and enforce all company safety procedures; maintain a clean and organized work area at all times.
- Provide feedback and suggestions to improve PM procedures and reliability strategies.
- Participate in continuous improvement and Breakdown Elimination efforts to improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
- Communicate clearly with supervisors, team members, and engineering regarding equipment status, solutions, and improvement opportunities.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of industrial maintenance in a manufacturing or production setting.
- Demonstrated proficiency in working with PLC systems, including:
- Identifying control issues at the sensor/actuator level
- Replacing hardware components in a control panel
- Supporting machine troubleshooting and automation improvements
- Solid understanding of AC/DC electrical systems, motor controls, and automation components.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents (blueprints, schematics, manuals).
- Self-driven with the ability to diagnose and solve problems independently.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work flexible shifts
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Experience with facility systems (HVAC, plumbing, fire suppression, lighting).
- Familiarity with pumps, valves, welding, and fabrication.
- Working knowledge of CMMS systems and maintenance planning.
- Comfortable using multimeters, test equipment, and power tools.
- Clear communication skills and a proactive approach to safety and reliability.
