Machine Operator
We are a growing manufacturing company seeking a reliable, experienced, and detail-oriented Machine Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong machine operating experience and serve as a positive example on the production floor by helping train, mentor, and support fellow operators while maintaining high standards for safety, quality, and efficiency.
This position will support operations across two companies, including assisting with production at our bakery as needed. The successful candidate will be expected to work collaboratively with team members, help keep production on schedule, and communicate effectively with management. This is not a supervisory position, but it does require someone who is comfortable mentoring others and helping the team succeed.
MUST HAVE MACHINE OPERATOR EXPERIENCE
Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor machinery that performs packaging functions including filling, sealing, labeling, packing, and wrapping.
- Start machines and monitor operations to detect malfunctions.
- Stop machines and promptly report equipment issues to the Production Manager.
- Perform minor machine adjustments and basic repairs, including changing settings, replacing forming/cutting dies, and clearing jams.
- Inspect filled containers to ensure packaging meets quality specifications.
- Load and unload packaging materials from machines, conveyors, and other equipment.
- Replenish packaging supplies, including boxes, cartons, plastic sheets, labels, ink, and glue.
- Verify that lot numbers on production batches match production documentation.
- Help train and mentor new machine operators by sharing best practices and promoting safe, efficient production methods.
- Assist teammates in maintaining production flow and meeting daily production goals.
- Communicate equipment, production, or quality concerns to management promptly.
- Support production needs at the company's bakery location as required.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Previous Machine Operator experience is required.
- Ability to mentor and support coworkers in a team-oriented environment.
- Experience in food manufacturing or bakery production is a plus.
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic math.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. or more continuously throughout an 8-hour shift.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $13.00 - $16.00 per hour
