Job Description
The Buyer is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) materials, spare parts, equipment, and services. This role ensures timely procurement, cost control, and compliance with safety and industry regulations to support production and maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Source MRO materials, spare parts, and capital equipment
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and delivery schedules with suppliers
- Manage supplier relationships and evaluate performance
- Work closely with maintenance, engineering, and production teams to prioritize needs
- Track purchase orders, confirm receipt of goods, and process invoices
- Maintain accurate procurement records for compliance and audits
- Analyze spending and identify cost-saving opportunities
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3–5 years of procurement experience in manufacturing (chemical industry preferred)
- Knowledge of industrial equipment, MRO sourcing, and procurement best practices
- Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems and proficiency in Excel
