Summary of the Role
The Production Engineering Manager is a hands-on engineering and operations leader responsible for optimizing plant performance, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring safety, quality, and production efficiency within BLEACHTECH’s chlor-alkali manufacturing facility. This position blends engineering expertise with operational leadership, overseeing both project execution and daily production support.
Additionally, this role will develop, implement, and lead technical and safety training programs to build team capability and maintain excellence in execution.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage engineering projects from concept to completion—ensuring adherence to safety, budget, and performance goals.
Develop and track project plans, timelines, and budgets; report progress and adjust as needed.
Conduct feasibility studies to identify viable technical and operational solutions.
Partner with operations, maintenance, and procurement to align plant goals with project outcomes.
Provide day-to-day leadership to production supervisors and teams to ensure consistent plant performance.
Ensure adherence to production schedules, safety protocols, and quality standards.
Set clear performance goals and coach employees toward achieving results.
Build, coordinate, and deliver employee training programs focused on safety, process operations, and equipment performance.
Evaluate training effectiveness and ensure ongoing skill development across departments.
Drive process optimization across chlorine, caustic soda, hydrogen, bleach, and hydrochloric acid systems.
Identify and execute energy savings and cost reduction initiatives.
Provide technical troubleshooting support and implement permanent corrective actions.
Participate in safety audits, incident investigations, and process hazard reviews.
Oversee relationships with vendors and contractors, ensuring timely, cost-effective project delivery.
Collaborate with leadership to plan, budget, and execute plant improvement strategies.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Chemical, Process, or Mechanical preferred).
Experience in an Operations Leadership role within a chemical or manufacturing environment.
Minimum 7 years of manufacturing experience, with 5 years in chemical or process engineering, preferably in chlor-alkali or related industries.
Proven background in process design, optimization, and capital project execution.
Strong knowledge of electrolysis systems, cell room operations, and process control systems.
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and improve operational performance.
Experience developing and delivering technical and safety training.
Proficiency with AutoCAD, Aspen Plus, or similar process simulation tools.
Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
