SEIU 32BJ Training Fund Pittsburgh Cleaning: Products and Techniques Instructor (Part-time) The 32BJ Training Fund is seeking qualified candidates for part-time Cleaning: Products and Techniques instructors for classes taught in the Pittsburgh and Western Pennsylvania region. About us: SEIU 32BJ is a service union that represents cleaners, maintenance workers, service staff, and security officers in the New York City area and nine states on the East Coast. Our mission is to educate every member so that they have the tools they need to meet the challenges of a changing industry. Who we’re looking for: Creative, dynamic teachers with good interpersonal skills who enjoy working in diverse linguistic and cultural settingsTeachers looking to empower workers through industry skills educationResponsibilities: Plan and implement lesson plans that are aligned to the program curriculum and incorporate the provided educational materials.Teach course content using a student-centered teaching approachMaintain and submit records of attendanceMaintain ongoing communication with supervisorParticipate in relevant professional development activities, as availableQualifications: 10 years of experience working in commercial cleaningGreen Cleaning certification or experiencesExperience with floor stripping and waxingOSHA 30-hour General Industry certificateStrong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with students from a variety of linguistic and cultural backgroundsAbility to use digital platforms to instruct, communicate, and record program data.COVID-19 Considerations Record of completed COVID-19 vaccine or confirmed medical/religious exemptionCompliance with current COVID-19 protocols of the organizationClasses offered Days, dates, and schedule TBDLocation(s) Various Metropolitan Pittsburgh site(s)OaklandCompensation: $50 per teaching hourPaid preparation timePaid in-house training, coaching, and professional development opportunities
