Two paraprofessionals assist in providing focused attention on managing behaviors and assisting with toileting needs, creating a supportive and structured learning environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction tailored to the needs of elementary students with disabilities.
- Manage classroom behaviors effectively to maintain a positive and productive learning atmosphere.
- Work closely with paraprofessionals to support students’ educational and personal care needs.
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies as necessary.
- Collaborate with school staff, families, and specialists to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education is required; Master’s or Doctoral Degree in Special Education is preferred.
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with a Special Education endorsement is mandatory.
- Must hold a valid Special Education License; substitute licenses are not accepted.
- Experience working with diverse student populations and managing behavioral challenges is preferred.
