As a Teacher for the Visually Impaired, you’ll broaden your expertise by engaging with diverse student needs in the Tukwila area and interacting with innovative educators. Qualifications:
- Valid Washington State TVI (Teacher of the Visually Impaired) Certification (required)
- Fingerprinting clearance through OSPI prior to start date
- Previous experience teaching or supporting students who are visually impaired strongly preferred
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative services to a caseload of 8 students across K-12, aligned with individualized needs
- Provide approximately 15 service hours per week through varied frequencies (weekly, monthly, or quarterly as assigned)
- Develop and implement adaptive instructional strategies and materials
- Partner with general and special education teams for IEP development and progress monitoring
- Maintain clear, timely documentation and participate in relevant meetings
