Desired Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid RN licensure for the state of Illinois
- Experience providing nursing services in a school or pediatric setting
- Skilled in individualized care and creating health plans for students with special needs
- Ability to effectively communicate with students, educators, parents, and healthcare providers
- Special Education Teacher certification (preferred, not required)
- Previous work as a Certified School Nurse (CSN) is an asset, though prior experience at this location is not required
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct nursing care, medication administration, and emergency response to students during school hours (8:00 am–3:30 pm)
- Develop and implement individualized health plans for students receiving special education services
- Provide health assessments, screenings, and referrals in accordance with district protocols
- Educate staff and families on relevant health issues and promote wellness initiatives
- Maintain accurate health records and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
- Collaborate with special education teams to support the academic and health needs of students
