Key Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 years’ experience as a paraprofessional in a special education classroom (PreK-12) supporting students with severe autism and behavioral challenges
- Comfortable working with high-intensity needs, including students who may display aggressive or self-injurious behaviors and require close supervision for safety
- Ability to implement and follow behavioral support plans within a structured setting
- Willingness and ability to assist with hands-on responsibilities such as toileting, feeding, transfers, and daily care routines
- Must reside within a 35-minute commute
- Fully available Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–3:00 PM, with mandatory orientation week attendance (8:30 AM–4:30 PM)
- Must meet one of PA’s paraprofessional requirements OR be committed to completing state paraprofessional certification within 60 days of assignment start
- Strong references from prior supervisor(s) in paraprofessional roles
Responsibilities:
- Provide consistent, compassionate support to students with complex needs within high school or elementary (K-8) settings
- Ensure safety by monitoring, intervening, and redirecting as required
- Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and other school staff
- Actively participate in orientation and ongoing training as required
- Adapt quickly to changing assignments and locations, remaining flexible to best serve the students
