Make a difference supporting elementary students as a dedicated paraprofessional in an engaging educational setting. This contract opportunity offers full-time hours with the potential to work either one-on-one or within a general special education classroom. Candidates will be assigned to one of two elementary schools, both focusing on inclusive, student-centered learning.
The assignment runs from ASAP through the end of the school year (June 17th), following the school schedule of 8:40 AM – 3:20 PM. Paraprofessionals work onsite, collaborating closely with teachers, support staff, and administrators to empower students to reach their full potential.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Experience in a school setting as a paraprofessional or similar support role
- Positive professional references are required prior to contract offer
- PMT training is a plus (Physical Management Techniques)
- Willingness to complete all mandatory onboarding trainings, including DCF (Department of Children and Families), prevention of sexual misconduct against children, and trafficking awareness
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and adapt to student needs
- Commitment to supporting positive student outcomes
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct or classroom support to elementary students, including those with special needs
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and encouraging classroom environment
- Implement instructional activities as directed by certified staff
- Assist with daily classroom routines and behavior management
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development
