A contract opportunity is available for a skilled Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS) to provide specialized support within school settings in the Oviedo and Sanford areas of Orlando, FL. This role offers a focused, part-time schedule, ideal for professionals seeking to impact K12 students by conducting thorough evaluations and interventions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct orientation and mobility evaluations and training for students from kindergarten through 12th grade.
- Develop and implement individualized mobility plans tailored to student needs.
- Work closely with school staff and families to support student independence and safety.
- Manage a caseload of approximately three students per day, three days per week.
- Ensure compliance with licensing and credentialing requirements.
- Maintain accurate documentation and reporting related to student progress and services.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current National Orientation and Mobility Specialist licensure.
- Valid drivers license and ability to travel to on-site locations.
- Completion of required credentialing including fingerprinting and professional license verification.
- Experience working with K12 students in school environments.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work on-site with some travel flexibility accepted.
Location: Orlando, FL Oviedo and Sanford school areas.
Schedule: Part-time contract, approximately 15-20 hours per week over a three-week period, with an ASAP start date.
