Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Facility Maintenance Technician to support daily plant operations, equipment maintenance, and shipping activities. This role requires strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and experience handling large products using forklifts, overhead hoists, and man-lift equipment.
The ideal candidate is organized, reliable, and motivated to continuously develop skills while working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe working environment inside and outside the facility
- Follow all safety policies and procedures at all times
- Utilize approved tools and equipment to complete daily tasks
- Report discrepancies or maintenance concerns to management
- Perform building and facility maintenance repairs
- Assist with equipment and building repairs alongside the safety manager
- Maintain daily maintenance and repair logs
- Conduct basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting
- Operate forklifts, overhead hoists, and man-lift equipment
- Move boats and trailers using forklifts and hoists
- Identify boats by shape, size, and model
- Build trailers according to P.O.S. specifications
- Prepare dumpsters and dump trailers for hauling
- Unstack trailers and maintain torque wheels and tires
- Transport dump trailers to landfill when required
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of hoist and work areas
- Perform trash pickup around facility grounds
- Communicate maintenance needs with other departments
- Work with shipping and operations managers to improve processes
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Skills & Abilities
- Valid, clean driver’s license
- Minimum 1 year of manufacturing or industrial experience
- Forklift experience required (certification preferred)
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Mechanical and electrical repair knowledge (basic level)
- Ability to read safety labels and properly handle materials
- Experience using air tools, hand tools, and measuring equipment
- Strong attention to quality and safety standards
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good judgment and willingness to ask for help when needed
- Flexible schedule — overtime may be required
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly
- Comfortable working in a non-climate-controlled environment
- Ability to climb ladders and work at elevated heights
- Not afraid of heights
- Ability to stoop, kneel, bend, push, pull, reach, grasp, and stand for extended periods
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
