Join Our Team as a Shop Foreman
We are seeking an experienced Shop Foreman to oversee the daily operations of our service shop and lead a team of technicians responsible for maintaining and repairing emergency vehicles and equipment.
This role is ideal for someone with strong mechanical expertise and leadership skills who enjoys managing shop operations while ensuring high-quality work and safe procedures.
As Shop Foreman, you will play a critical role in keeping essential equipment ready for the field.
What You’ll Do
- Supervise and coordinate daily work for shop technicians and service personnel
- Assign work orders and prioritize repairs, maintenance, and equipment preparation
- Ensure all work is completed according to company procedures, safety standards, and manufacturer specifications
- Inspect completed repairs to verify quality and accuracy
- Assist with diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical issues related to vehicles and equipment
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe shop environment
- Monitor tools, equipment, and parts inventory and coordinate ordering when needed
- Train, mentor, and support technicians to maintain high technical standards
- Work closely with operations and service leadership to ensure shop productivity and efficiency
- Maintain service documentation, repair records, and maintenance logs
What We’re Looking For
- 5 years of experience in mechanical repair, heavy vehicles, or equipment maintenance
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience in a shop or service environment preferred
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and vehicle components
- Ability to read service manuals, technical diagrams, and repair documentation
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Valid driver’s license required
Preferred Background
- Experience working with fire apparatus, emergency vehicles, or specialty equipment
- Familiarity with pump systems, hose testing equipment, or apparatus maintenance
- CDL certification or willingness to obtain one
- ASE & EVT certifications (Level 3 Master EVT, desirable)
