Under the direction of the Investment Supervisor, the Wax Technician plays a critical role in producing world-class cast products that meet the quality, delivery, and performance expectations of BCT customers. This position is responsible for operating and maintaining the wax department independently, supporting production schedules, and ensuring wax patterns and assemblies are prepared accurately and efficiently for downstream shelling operations. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Wax Injection & Tooling Operations
- Independently operate and manage the day‑to‑day activities of the wax department.
- Set up wax injection tooling and establish injection parameters.
- Perform pattern wax changeovers as required.
- Partner with 1st shift team to define, document, and implement best practices for wax processes.
Production Planning & Workflow Support
- Review weekly production schedules and level‑load wax presses to support daily and weekly workloads.
- Prepare and batch wax molds for transfer to the shelling operation.
- Ensure wax production meets quality, delivery, and efficiency targets.
Wax Assembly & Pattern Preparation
- Perform mold assembly of wax patterns to specification.
- Inspect wax patterns and assemblies for defects prior to shelling.
- Maintain consistency and repeatability across wax builds.
Standardization & Continuous Improvement
- Assist with the development and refinement of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, efficiency gains, and waste reduction.
Cross‑Functional & Documentation Support
- Complete ERP transactions and basic production, quality, and calibration documentation as required.
- Assist the Melt Department during downtime, supporting foundry operations and overall production flow as needed by taking direction from the Foundry Supervisor.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support team and business needs.

Qualifications
- Ability to function effectively in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

- Thorough understanding of the investment casting / lost wax process.
- Strong sense of urgency with a results‑driven mindset.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating across departments.
Education & Experience
- 3 years of experience in investment casting wax injection and wax assembly preferred.
