Location: Bland County Elementary School
Reports To: Building Principal
Position Summary
Bland County Public Schools is seeking dependable and student-focused Tutor to support academic success across grade levels. Tutors will provide targeted instruction to individuals or small groups, reinforcing classroom learning and helping students build confidence and mastery in core subject areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individualized and small group instruction in reading, math, and/or other core subjects
- Support students in meeting academic goals and improving performance
- Collaborate with teachers to align tutoring with classroom instruction
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records
- Foster a positive, encouraging learning environment
- Follow all school division policies and procedures
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred
- Experience working with children or in an educational setting preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must pass background checks required for school employment
Work Schedule
- Part-time, flexible hours based on student needs and school schedules
- Positions may close prior to the posted deadline at the discretion of the school division
