Special Education Teacher – Pathways Program (Autism)
Position Summary: The Acton-Boxborough Regional School District, is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher to work as a Lead Teacher in the Pathways Program at the Blanchard Elementary School. The Pathways Program is a well-supported classroom using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). The program is designed to help children diagnosed with Autism reach their full potential. The students receive highly specialized instruction with inclusion opportunities provided and supported as appropriate. Under the direction of the teacher, the program is supported by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, Speech Pathologist and Occupational Therapist and ABA Tutors.
Primary Job Responsibilities include:
Planning and implementing academic and behavioral programming for students in collaboration with other members of the team Recording and summarizing data
Conducting comprehensive student evaluations for three year evaluations and progress monitoring Progress reporting and IEP writing
Meeting regularly and consulting with team members Coordinating therapies (OT, PT, Speech and Language) Modifying general education curriculum/expectations to meet student’s needs and skill level to insure successful inclusion experiences
Actively providing training, supervision and feedback to program staff
Working closely with all team members and building staff and administration.
Communicating with families and home service providers
