Paving Crew Equipment Operator / Laborer

Overview

The successful candidate will be a member of a paving crew whose primary job will be the installation of hot mix asphalt using hand tools and heavy equipment. Prior paving experience preferred, but not required. The candidate must be able perform physical labor, work as part of a team, and have a good work ethic.

Blaktop and its sister company, Twin State Sand & Gravel, are locally owned and family run businesses that have been in operation for over 70 years. Job is seasonal, typically late April thru November.

Duties, Responsibilities, & Requirements

• Work as an integral member of a team to install hot mix asphalt using hand tools and heavy equipment such as lutes, rollers, skid steers, and pavers.
• Comply with safety rules & work in a safe manner.
• Adhere to quality standards.
• Assist with routine daily equipment maintenance & clean-up.
• Show up to work on time & on a regular basis.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Ability to work effectively with others as a member of a team.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy loads, climb ladders, and perform manual labor tasks.
• Good work ethic.
• Prior paving experience preferred, but not required.
• Driver's license required
