Position Title: Maintenance Technician

Pay: $23 – $27 / hour

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm (On-call as needed)

Blakehurst is recruiting for a hospitality focused Maintenance Technician to join our team! This position is responsible for maintaining all aspects of the physical plant department, including performing routine servicing and seasonal repairs.

Primary Responsibilities

• Performs general maintenance duties, such as: fixing wall covers, floor covers and some furniture and fixtures; light plumbing work, minor electrical repair, and appliance repairs.
• Performs painting and refurbishing projects, as directed by supervisor.
• Performs routine preventive maintenance, as directed by supervisor.
• Performs minor building and equipment repairs.
• Accomplishes all work in the order of priority set by supervisor.
• Assists with snow removal efforts during the winter.
  
  

Other Duties

• Does routine maintenance on all vehicles when assigned.
• Maintains all tools, equipment and supplies in proper condition.
• When qualified, assists the Director of Plant and/or performs work on the heating and air conditioning systems, domestic water systems, refrigeration systems, pumps, motors, fans, electrical systems and emergency generators.
• Attends in-service training and education sessions, as assigned.
• Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
  
  

Qualifications

• High school education. Technical schooling and/or background preferred.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform simple arithmetic.
