Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for eye examinations by taking detailed medical histories and explaining procedures clearly.
- Conduct preliminary vision tests using precision measuring instruments such as autorefractors, tonometers, and visual acuity charts.
- Assist with contact lens care and handling training.
- Support the optometrist by managing patient flow in and out of the exam room.
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the clinic environment.
- The position will also include cross-training for frontdesk duties to be applied as needed, such as patient check-in and check-out, appointment scheduling, insurance verification etc.
Qualifications
- High school degree or equivalent
- Friendly and professional with strong customer service skills
- Dependable and punctual
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Detail-oriented and organized
- Comfortable working with patients and medical equipment
- Basic computer and phone skills
- Ability to multitask in a busy office environment
- Willingness to learn clinical and front desk duties
- Previous medical, optometry, or healthcare experience preferred (but not required)
