Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer to support our production of complex, high-precision turbomachinery. This role focuses on CNC programming, tooling and fixture design, process optimization, and direct support for the manufacturing floor.
The ideal candidate enjoys solving technical challenges, working with precision parts, and continuously improving manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize CNC programs for lathes and mills using CAD/CAM software (GibbsCAM preferred).
- Design and implement custom tooling and fixtures to support efficient, accurate manufacturing.
- Select and evaluate cutting tools to reduce cycle time, improve tool life, and enhance part quality.
- Partner with machinists to troubleshoot and resolve dimensional or process-related issues.
- Support QA/QC with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Collaborate with Production Control to ensure accurate scheduling and process flow.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and streamline workflows.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Manufacturing, Mechanical, or related field preferred).
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a CNC machining–based manufacturing engineering role.
- Proficiency with precision measuring tools (micrometers, thread/pin gauges, bore gauges, indicators).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.
- Experience with CAD/CAM (GibbsCAM preferred), ERP/MRP systems, spreadsheets, and technical documentation software.
- Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across engineering, production, and quality teams.
- Comfortable working on the shop floor and occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs.
