Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced accounting professional to lead client engagements and supervise staff within our Client Accounting & Advisory Services (CAAS) practice, with a strong emphasis on nonprofit organizations.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as primary client contact for a portfolio of business and nonprofit clients
- Supervise, review, and mentor CAAS staff (delegation, review of work, performance feedback)
- Oversee monthly accounting and payroll services
- Review and/or prepare monthly OCBOA financial statements
- Prepare nonprofit clients for annual audits, including drafting and organizing workpapers and coordinating with external auditors
- Compile full-disclosure GAAP financial statements for nonprofit clients
- Prepare and review Form 990
- Advise clients on nonprofit-specific matters including startup, budgeting, grant reporting, compliance, and internal controls
Required Qualifications
- 3 years of experience supervising or reviewing the work of other accountants/staff
- Direct experience serving nonprofit clients (not just exposure)
- Experience preparing or reviewing Form 990
- Experience with GAAP financial statements for nonprofit organizations
- Ability to manage multiple client relationships independently
- CPA or CPA candidate
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a CAAS or outsourced accounting environment
- Experience working in a small or mid-sized firm setting
