What are the responsibilities and job description for the Varsity assistant boys’ lacrosse coach position at Blair Academy?
Blair Academy is seeking to hire a part-time varsity assistant boys’ lacrosse coach for the spring 2026 (March through May) season. This position is responsible for supporting the head coach in all aspects of the varsity lacrosse program, including coaching, practice planning, game preparation, player development and fostering a positive team culture. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of the game, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to the academic and athletic growth of student-athletes. This position is considered part-time, exempt and non-essential and reports to the Director of Athletics.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred;
- Previous coaching experience at the high school or club level required; playing experience in high school or at the collegiate level or above preferred;
- Deep understanding and knowledge of the rules, techniques and strategies of boys' lacrosse;
- Must possess or be willing to obtain necessary certifications (e.g., CPR/first aid, concussion protocol, etc.) as required by Blair and state athletic association; Commitment to a Monday-through-Saturday practice and game schedule required; and
- Willingness to engage in some travel and occasional Sunday work for rainouts or makeup games.
Salary & other compensation:
Base pay range $3,500-5,000. Salary dependent on numerous factors, including but not limited to education and experience.
