Title: Technology Technician I
Location: Department of Technology and Digital Teaching and Learning
Qualifications: Candidate must be a graduate from a two-year college or technical school with coursework in computer science, electronics, or a related field; or have approximately three to five years directly related to the duties and responsibilities below. Any equivalent combinations of education, experiences, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered.
A certification preferred – candidate will be required to complete this certification within six months of being hired.
Experience with Chrome OS, Mac OS, and related maintenance and repairs preferred.
Salary Range: Local Salary Schedule
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Repairs, maintains, and upgrades technology-related equipment.
- Reads and interprets schematics, wiring diagrams, and manuals when necessary.
- Operates standard and specialized electronic devices in testing and troubleshooting computer and other technology-related equipment.
- Use a work-order tracking system for routine repair and maintenance of equipment.
- Maintains general knowledge of computers and related technology devices.
- Maintains basic knowledge of mathematical principles as applied in analysis and completion of job responsibilities.
- Systematically troubleshoots standard technology and electronic devices.
- Communicates effectively with users, is goal-oriented, and team minded.
- Participates in long and short range technology planning.
- Maintains documentation regarding network configuration, operating procedures, and service records relating to hardware and software.
- Attends classes, seminars, conferences, and reviews professional literature to enhance knowledge of trends and developments related to technology in the K-12 sector.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

A requirement that a license to drive a bus be obtained and maintained and that the employee drive a bus as needed and requested by the Principal. This requirement does not apply to individuals exempted from getting a bus license by the Department of Motor Vehicles due to disabilities.
