Duties
- Assist with food preparation by following recipes and safety guidelines to ensure quality and consistency.
- Serve meals to students and staff in a friendly, efficient manner, providing excellent in-person customer service.
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, dining spaces, and food service equipment through proper cleaning and sanitizing procedures.
- Handle manual tasks such as weight handling in the workplace, processing cash transactions, and operating POS systems accurately.
- Follow food safety management protocols to ensure proper handling, storage, and sanitation of all food items.
- Support dietary needs by understanding dietary restrictions and assisting with special meal requests.
- Assist with inventory management by organizing supplies and monitoring stock levels to prevent shortages.
Skills
- Previous experience in food handling, catering, or restaurant environments is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of food safety sanitizing procedures and food industry standards.
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Strong customer service skills with an emphasis on in-person interactions.
- Basic math skills for cash handling and inventory management.
- Experience with culinary tasks such as food preparation and serving in hospitality or school settings.
- Familiarity with POS systems, manual handling techniques, and weight handling in the workplace.
