Blackwood Associates is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee large-scale government projects, including both ground-up construction and major renovation work for our client in the New London County, CT area. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing complex public-sector projects from start to finish, ensuring quality, safety, and schedule compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily field operations on active construction sites.
- Coordinate subcontractors, materials, and inspections to maintain schedule and quality.
- Enforce safety standards and site-specific protocols.
- Communicate regularly with project managers, clients, and inspectors.
- Manage project documentation, daily logs, and progress reports.
- Ensure compliance with contract specifications and government regulations.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 8 years of experience as a Construction Superintendent.
- Proven experience managing government, public works, or institutional projects.
- Strong understanding of ground-up construction and large-scale renovations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with construction management software and MS Office.
- OSHA 30 certification preferred.
