Role: Sr. Fuel Service Technician
Location: Charlotte Metro, NC
Base Salary: $22 – $34 per hour
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Fuel Service Technician to join our team in the Charlotte Metro area. This role is responsible for the installation, diagnostics, maintenance, and repair of fuel dispensing equipment, USTs, leak detection systems, POS systems, and related petroleum equipment. The ideal candidate will bring 7–10 years of electrical and mechanical troubleshooting expertise, strong familiarity with petroleum equipment such as Gilbarco, Veeder-Root, and Verifone, and a proven track record of working independently in retail fueling environments.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service & Safety
- Deliver professional, customer-facing service while resolving technical issues.
- Ensure all work complies with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
Technical Maintenance & Repair
- Perform advanced diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and repair of fuel dispensers, USTs, vapor recovery, tank monitors, and POS systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair electronic and mechanical systems (Gilbarco, Veeder-Root, Verifone, Red Jacket, FE Petro).
- Lead or assist in system installations, upgrades, and manufacturer-authorized modifications.
- Respond to emergency calls, including participation in an on-call rotation.
Operational Duties
- Accurately document and close work orders in the maintenance system.
- Manage van inventory, requisition non-stock parts, and maintain service vehicle cleanliness and safety.
- Track and maintain accountability for parts and equipment.
Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 7–10 years’ experience in fuel system installation, maintenance, and repair.
- Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- In-depth knowledge of USTs, dispensers, sensors, alarms, leak detection, vapor recovery units, and POS systems.
- Experience with Gilbarco, Veeder-Root, Red Jacket, Verifone, and FE Petro equipment.
- Valid driver’s license and insurability required.
- VASC certification and manufacturer certifications preferred.
- Ability to read schematics, technical manuals, and perform networking basics (POS/IP systems).
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and travel locally (no overnight).

Pay: $22.97 - $34.00 per hour
