What are the responsibilities and job description for the Virtual Reality Enthusiast! position at BlackTree Technical Group, Inc.?
We are looking for an in-person Virtual Reality enthusiast to document mission critical data & operating highly complex VR systems.
Responsibilities
- Teleoperate our robots (mainly eAtlas and manipulation stands) using a VR system.
- Follow a task demonstration playbook to execute specific robot behaviors and scenarios.
- Communicate clearly with engineers and managers about blockers, improvement opportunities, and task observations.
- Monitor robot performance and behavior, identifying issues, inconsistencies, or unexpected outcomes.
- Interrupt robot execution when necessary and provide corrective demonstrations to support machine learning workflows.
- Participate in a continuous feedback loop, contributing to peer reviews and tooling/process improvements.
- Support quality assurance (QA) tasks during downtime when not actively teleoperating robots.
- Adapt quickly to evolving workflows and tooling, as this role will change alongside ongoing ML development
Qualifications:
Physical & Technical Requirements
- High School Degree or equivalent
- Ability to stand and move for extended periods, with breaks as needed.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable wearing and operating VR headsets, motion capture suits, and handheld VR controllers for extended sessions.
