The mission of Blackstone Valley Prep is to prepare every scholar to achieve their goals for college and the world beyond. BVPs scholars will graduate empowered as learners, individuals, and community members to access opportunities and break down barriers. Apart from academics, we believe that preparing scholars for the world beyond also means experiencing the diversity of the world we live in today. Our network is designed to be diverse, accepting students from the four communities that share a region but differ substantially in their socio-economic, racial, and ethnic demographics. • Acts ethically and with integrity while following all school, network, and state policies
• Engages families as partners in scholar success while recognizing and respecting differences in family backgrounds, structures, and cultures
• Attends mandatory professional development sessions and family meet and greets

In addition, Teaching Fellows are expected to:Co-lead a classroom with a certified teacher, serve as a substitute, and/or rotate into various teaching and support positions within a designated school as needed.Execute academically rigorous lessons plans and administer directives with fidelity and efficiencyImplement classroom management practices that are consistent with the culture of the schoolSolicit and apply feedback and seek opportunities for learningCommunicate and work effectively with those from diverse backgrounds, first and foremost by listening and building community.Develop and execute a plan towards teaching certification within 1-3 years with the support of the Director of Teaching FellowsParticipate in professional development as determined/developed by the organizationParticipate in school-wide initiatives that support student learning and engagementEngage in content-specific development based on academics designated subject/grade area. Other duties as assigned Qualifications:Bachelors degree preferred but not required 2-year Associates degree or 60 credits requiredDemonstrated interest in pursuing a career as a teacherA commitment to working with a diverse student and staff populationStrong desire/passion to teach in a diverse community Bilingual candidates are preferred but not requiredTo Apply:
