ENERGY AUDITOR

Job Profile
The Energy Auditor is responsible for conducting comprehensive residential energy assessments to determine the needs of each unit. This position plays a key role in improving energy efficiency for low- to moderate-income households by identifying necessary weatherization measures and coordinating work orders through the Hancock Software system. The Auditor will work closely with contractors and program staff to ensure timely and accurate project completion. Training, equipment, and tools will be provided.
Primary Duties / Essential Functions
· Conduct in-home energy audits and assessments for residential clients
· Evaluate housing conditions and identify energy efficiency improvements and measures such as insulation, weatherstripping, pipe wrapping and air sealing
· Evaluate the energy efficiency of major appliances (refrigerators, freezers, washers, window Acs and dehumidifiers) and replace with Energy Star models.
· Input audit data and generate work orders using Hancock Software
· Coordinate and communicate with contractors regarding assigned projects
· Ensure all documentation is accurate, complete, and submitted timely
· Travel to client residences within service areas as required
· Maintain compliance with program guidelines and safety standards
Other Duties
· Perform additional duties as assigned by management
Education Requirement and Prior Work Experience
· High school diploma or GED required
· Minimum of 1 year of construction experience preferred
· Knowledge of construction practices is a plus
· BPI Certification preferred (training provided if not certified)
· Basic computer proficiency required
· Must possess a clean driving record
· Must pass background and drug screening through Rhode Island Energy
· Strong communication skills and demonstrated work ethic required

· Frequent travel to residential client locations
· Ability to work in varying indoor and outdoor environments
· May involve standing, walking, bending, and lifting equipment
· Use of standard tools, diagnostic equipment, and computer systems
· Work performed primarily in client homes and field settings
Background Checks
BVCAP performs thorough background checks of its employees, including a Consent Based Social Security Number Verification (CBSV), credit report, and a criminal history background check. Employees will be asked to sign an acknowledgement of this background check at the start of the process.
