Role Description This is a contract, on-site role for a Licensed Massage Therapist based in Providence, RI. The therapist will provide therapeutic massage sessions, conduct client intake interviews, and maintain accurate treatment records. Day-to-day responsibilities include assessing client needs, recommending appropriate massage techniques, and delivering services such as body massage and specialized modalities in a safe and comfortable manner. The role also involves maintaining a clean and organized treatment space, following health and safety protocols, and delivering attentive customer service before and after sessions. The therapist will collaborate with the center’s staff to support scheduling, client follow-up, and a positive overall client experience.
Qualifications
- Ability to provide high-quality Customer Service, including clear communication, professionalism, and client-centered care.
- Proficiency in Therapeutic Massage and Body Massage, with strong hands-on skills and attention to client comfort and safety.
- Experience or training in Shiatsu and Stress Management techniques to support clients with relaxation and wellness goals.
- Current state licensure as a Massage Therapist in Rhode Island and compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and contraindications to ensure safe and effective treatments.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and maintain consistent documentation of client sessions.
- Commitment to maintaining hygiene standards, including proper sanitation of equipment and treatment areas.
- Preferred: CPR/First Aid certification and prior experience in a clinical or wellness-focused massage setting.
