As a Pharmacy Delivery Driver, you will be a vital part of our commitment to exceptional customer service. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of prescription medications and medical supplies to our customers and patients. In addition, you will serve as a key representative or our organization, ensuring a positive and professional experience for every customer interaction.
Key Responsibilities.
· Deliver a variety of pharmaceutical products to patients in a timely, courteous, and safe manner.
· Plan and follow the most efficient delivery routes while maintaining scheduled delivery times. Load, unload, inspect, and operate the delivery vehicle in compliance with company and safety standards.
· Maintain accurate delivery logs, complete necessary documentation, and report any discrepancies or issues.
· Provide exceptional customer service, respond to basic inquiries, and escalate patient concerns when needed.
· Collect payments when required, ensure proper handling of cash or electronic transactions and obtain signatures/proof of receipt when necessary.
· Communicate information about new products or services to customers as directed.
· Report any potential vehicle service needs and/or mechanical issues to direct supervisor in a timely manner.
· Adhere to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and all company safety protocols.
Required Qualifications
· Must have a valid, VA driver’s license and be in good standing with the ability to meet/maintain driver insurability requirements and the minimum age requirement (25 years of age minimum).
· Prior experience as a delivery driver, preferably in a healthcare or pharmacy setting, with a minimum of one (1) year of delivery driver experience, preferred.
· Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
· Demonstrated commitment to outstanding customer service and patient care.
· A genuine passion for delivering outstanding customer service, paired with a warm, people-first attitude.
· Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage respectfully and effectively with customers and colleagues.
· Comfortable thriving in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, where flexibility and teamwork are key.
· Technologically confident, with strong computer skills and the ability to quickly adapt to new systems and tools.
· Meticulous attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy and quality in all tasks.
· Consistently dependable, with a strong sense of responsibility, professionalism, and punctuality.
· Highly organized and efficient, with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a calm and positive demeanor.
· Must have the ability to frequently walk, sit, stand, bend, push/pull and lift weight up to 50 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of local routes and communities in the New River Valley.
- Familiarity with basic medical and pharmaceutical terminology helpful, but not required.
- Experience using delivery management apps, navigation tools such as GPS, and smartphone apps.
This is a part-time position with an expected starting pay rate of $14.00/per hour. The anticipated work schedule will consist of working a closing (4p – 8p) schedule, with some weekend shifts as needed.
