Position Overview
Blackrock Strategy is seeking a Program Manufacturing Liaison to support high-priority defense efforts in a full-time, on-site role.
This position will be embedded within an active production environment and will serve as the on-site “eyes and ears” for leadership and government stakeholders, providing real-time visibility into manufacturing progress, risks, and execution status.
This is not a hands-on production or engineering role. The liaison is not responsible for executing fixes or owning production outcomes. Instead, this role focuses on observing, assessing, and clearly communicating what is happening on the production floor to enable informed decision-making.
Success in this role requires strong judgment, situational awareness, and the ability to translate complex operational activity into clear, concise, and objective updates for leadership and customers.
What Success Looks Like
- Government stakeholders receive clear, timely, and objective insight into production progress and issues
- Risks, delays, and bottlenecks are identified early and communicated effectively
- Leadership has accurate visibility into readiness, dependencies, and execution status
- The liaison operates as a trusted, independent presence within the production environment
- Communication across production, logistics, and leadership is aligned, consistent, and actionable
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a full-time, on-site presence within a production facility to observe manufacturing activity, production flow, and progress toward deliverables
- Develop and maintain situational awareness of production status, throughput, schedule performance, and supply chain constraints
- Identify emerging risks, delays, bottlenecks, and dependencies that may impact delivery timelines
- Gather information directly from production, logistics, quality, and program stakeholders
- Provide clear, concise, and objective updates to government stakeholders and leadership
- Translate floor-level observations into actionable summaries, including:
- What is happening
- What it means
- What the potential impact is
- Track system or platform completion status and highlight issues affecting readiness and delivery
- Elevate risks and concerns through appropriate channels with timely and professional communication
- Stay aware of material flow, supplier effects, and production dependencies.
- Act as a neutral, independent observer, prioritizing visibility and communication over execution.
Support preparation of:
- Status reports
- Executive summaries
- Briefing inputs
Important Clarification
This role is not responsible for fixing production issues or managing execution.
The liaison’s role is to:
- Observe conditions
- Identify risks and gaps
- Communicate clearly and objectively
- Provide insight that enables leadership to take action
Required Qualifications
- 5–10 years of experience in defense, manufacturing, production, logistics, or supply chain environments
- Experience working in or around production floors or industrial environments
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Costpoint, Oracle, etc.)
- Strong ability to:
- Gather information from multiple sources
- Assess operational status
- Communicate findings clearly and concisely
- Ability to operate independently with minimal supervision
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including briefing and reporting
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- U.S. Citizenship
- Ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting defense production, integration, or fielding efforts
- Background in aerospace, unmanned systems, or mission systems
- Familiarity with production planning, logistics coordination, or operational readiness
- Experience working alongside government stakeholders or program offices
- Ability to build credibility quickly in technical and operational environments
Experience preparing:
- Executive updates
- Status reports
- Customer briefings
Work Environment
This position requires full-time, on-site presence in a production environment in the Huntsville, Alabama area. The role involves regular interaction with production teams, program leadership, and government stakeholders in a fast-paced, mission-driven setting.
Language Skills
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply policies, regulations, and technical documentation
- Strong writing skills for reports, correspondence, and leadership summaries

- Demonstrated judgment and common-sense decision-making
