Traffic Engineer in Pittsburgh, PA
- Direct Hire
- Hybrid schedule (1 remote day per week; can also work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday or Monday off)
- Must be willing to perform site visits
Key Responsibilities
- Design and/or oversee traffic-related improvements for highway and transportation projects
- Develop traffic control, traffic signal, signing, and pavement marking plans
- Perform traffic analysis and modeling for transportation improvement initiatives
- Prepare technical reports and recommendations for project deliverables
- Review and seal traffic-related submittals
- Mentor junior engineering staff and support team development
- Collaborate with project teams, consultants, and clients to deliver high-quality solutions
- Participate in professional organizations and assist with business development efforts
- 3β10 years of experience in traffic design for transportation projects
- BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university required
- EIT required; PE preferred
- PTOE certification or willingness to obtain is a plus
- Experience with MicroStation, InRoads, or OpenRoads preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- PennDOT and/or PA Turnpike experience preferred
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
